Does anyone know whether historical matched prices and amounts can be acquired? I seem to remember someone from Betfair telling me that they do supply this information ("very large file") on request but the help desk haven't got a clue what I am asking for.

You can download CSV files showing the total amount matched at each price from data.betfair.com.  But it doesn't tell you WHEN it was matched, which makes it pretty useless for most purposes - I've never found a use for it anyway.  Proper timestamped data you either have to collect yourself, or buy for £££ from fracsoft.

There is also http://data.betfair.com/ which does have a timestamp in it apparantly. Need 100 betfair points to get it though.

Actually, scratch that - the betfair free version doesn't have the timestamp. Just forget I said anything.

I would recommend you check out fracsoft, www.fracsoft.com, they have an excellent service for downloading historic data and a nice app where you can view the data and see how the prices moved many hours before and during in-play for a lot of different markets.
