I've started this thread in order to discuss all things Betdaq. I'm very much against monopolized bully-boys, hence why i'm no longer using ANY Micro$haft products and hence why i'm becoming extremely uncomfortable with Betfair.
I decided to try the Betdaq API, but getting access is looking a bit unlikely at present. If you go to the main API page HERE you'll discover that you must subscribe and be approved for API access. From what i recall, this is something new? I have applied for access, but received a slightly aggressive email stating that i must have a funded account and must be an active user. I replied stating that, to date, i have only used Betdaq for poker and that if they care to check, my poker account is quite well funded. Mind you, that could be a sore point because i've withdrawn more than i've deposited, but it's not MY fault that i'm an above average poker player. lol. So i'm currently waiting (2 days so far), for acception into the betdaq API and if they don't pull their fingers out, i'll just webscrape it instead.
On a slightly different note, i've also been a bit disappointed with Betdaq's help system. For about 6 months, i've been unable to load up the betting pages correctly in Firefox on my Ubuntu box...and having sent several mail to 'customer support', they have basically suggested clearing history/cache/cookies and then said 'sorry, you have a none standard operating system, so we cannot help you'.
I'm currently running Ubuntu 8.10 and Firefox 3.0.5. Most of the betdaq site loads ok but the left hand menu, 'ExchangeBet', 'XpressBet' and 'MultipleBet' pages all fail to load correctly. Other pages are fine (including the market view if i click 'Next Horse Race'), but with no menu and no home page, i can't actually place a bloody bet! Just installed the Epiphany web browser and betdaq works fine...and although the Epiphany browser is very much like Firefox (but much more lightweight), it doesn't appear to support bookmarks in the Firefox style (in the sidebar and all links nicely categorized into folders). As posted elsewhere on this forum, a screenshot is below. This was the same after a complete format and fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10 without ANY firefox add-ons. Any suggestions?
